Why Trailhead? Because we’re not a chain. We’re your neighbors. We’re parents. We’re clinicians. We’re part of this community, and we’re here for the long climb alongside you.

At Trailhead, ABA therapy isn’t just a service. It’s a relationship. Together, we build skills that last — and a future filled with possibility.

Trailhead Family & Life Skills was founded by Nathanial Friesen and Amanda Poulson, a husband-and-wife team raising their family right here in Colorado Springs. As parents and as professionals, they imagined something different for ABA therapy: a place where children and families feel safe, respected, and truly seen.

That vision grew into The Outpost — our downtown clinic designed to spark imagination, connection, and growth. Every mural, every sensory space, every corner was created with intention: to honor the dignity of kids and the families who love them.

And just as we care for families, we care for the people who make Trailhead possible. Our team is supported with training, stability, and respect, because children thrive best when the adults around them feel valued too.
